Riparian

Last spring I was much taken with the riparian border at the Kagawong River, thinking about its importance as a filter, a habitat, a source of shade, and as a liminal space between land and water. I began thinking about borders and the illusion of borders, the porosity between bodies. This poem was typed on paper, then filled with holes for the grasses to grow through.

Thank you, Capilano Review, for including this along with four other poems in their winter Land edition. Honoured to be printed alongside some really important writers and writing.
